Nerve: Common palmar digital
Origin: Median and superficial branch of ulnar nerve
Course: Runs distally between long flexor tendons of palm, bifurcating in distal palm
Innervation: Proper palmar digital nerve; skin and joints of palmar and dorsal aspect of fingers
Nerve: Dorsal branch of ulnar nerve
Origin: Ulnar nerve about 5 cm proximal to flexor retinaculum
Course: Passes distally deep to flexor carpi ulnaris, dorsally to perforate deep fascia, medial side of dorsum of hand, dividing into 2 or 3 dorsal digital nerve
Innervation: Skin of medial aspect of dorsum of hand, proximal portions of little and medial half of ring finger; adjacent sides of proximal portion of ring and middle fingers
Nerve: Lateral branch of median nerve
Origin: Median nerve as it enters palm of hand
Course: Runs laterally to palmar thumb and radial side of index finger
Innervation: First lumbrical; skin of palmar and distal dorsal aspects of thumb, radial half of index finger
Nerve: Medial branch of median nerve
Origin: Median nerve as it enters palm
Course: Runs medially to adjacent sides of index, middle and ring fingers
Innervation: Second lumbrical; skin of palmar and distal dorsal aspects of adjacent sides of index, middle and ring fingers
Nerve: Median
Origin: Arises by two roots; one from lateral cord of brachial plexus, one from medial cord; root joins lateral to axillary artery
Course: Medial side of brachial artery; cubital fossa, between head of pronator teres, intermediate and deep layers of anterior forearm; becomes superficial proximal to wrist; passes deep to flexor retinaculum
Innervation: Flexor muscles in forearm; thenar muscles, lateral lumbricals; skin of palmar and distal dorsal aspects of lateral 3-1/2 digits and palm
Nerve: Palmar cutaneous branch of ulnar nerve
Origin: Arises from ulnar nerve, near middle of forearm
Course: Ulnar artery and deep fascia in distal third of forearm
Innervation: Skin at base of medial palm overlying medial carpals
Nerve: Recurrent branch of median nerve
Origin: Median nerve distal to flexor retinaculum
Course: Distal border of flexor retinaculum, enters thenar muscles
Innervation: Abductor pollicis brevis, opponens pollicis, superficial head of flexor pollicis brevis

Course: Anterior to pronator teres, to brachioradialis; deep fascia at wrist, passes onto dorsum of hand
